Where is the Best Place to Stay in Galveston TX?

Vacation rentals on the West End of Galveston Island offer a wide variety of amenities and neighborhood perks, so it all depends on what you’re looking for! Popular areas include:

  • Pirates Beach: a well-established neighborhood with plenty of cul de sacs for scooters or bikes. House size & style vary, and most have easy walks to the beach.

  • Beachside Village: offering large homes, multiple decks, neighborhood dune walkovers and a unique architectural look.

  • Sea Isle: for a classic beach house rental experience and quick beach access. Many homes include access to the neighborhood fishing pier. Guests staying here can choose to purchase a neighborhood pool pass for the duration of their stay. (Open seasonally.)

Swimming Pools 

These aquatic oases offer a great way to cool off or take a break from the salt & surf! Most neighborhood pools (like those at Diamond Beach, Sea Isle & Pointe West) are only open to guests staying in that area, but the Jamaica Beach pool welcomes the general public with a per person, per day fee. All Galveston pools are open seasonally, typically from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Really love the water? Look for a vacation rental with a private pool.

Fishing & Birding on Galveston Island 

Try your hand at fishing or bring your binoculars to experience some of the best birding on the Gulf! Most bay and canal vacation rentals include a place to tie up your favorite water toy — be it a fishing boat or jet ski — and there are multiple places to put in the water or buy fresh bait, like Waterman’s or the West End Marina.
